Yes, he really did shave his head at the end of their engagement session 🫣

Well actually, Ana lovingly did after we finished the rest of this beautiful concept, finally brought to life with the help of @tomanek_farmsyeg 🐴🤍

At the beginning of the evening, KB very enthusiastically told us about the one photo he reeaaaallly wanted at the end - something to debut shaving his head for the summer. He had his shaver in the car & ready to go 🤣

So of course, we all laughed our asses off while we created this masterpiece of a gif - so thanks KB for the strange, creative mind you have and thank you Ana for being the most supportive fiancé 🫶🏻🫶🏻

Engagement sessions are supposed to be fun, unique and an experience that you two actually remember and enjoy!!

I will ALWAYS advocate for spending some time in nature during your engagement session BUT starting the evening off being cozy at home, while doing something you love together just feels right

I’ve also found it’s the best way to include your babies who aren’t as adventurous (or trusted outside lol)🐱

Every detail was so thoughtfully put together from such a beautifully talented vendor team - paired with the most loving and fun energy from these two 🤍

Photographing this little (growing) family has always been such a joy and I will be forever grateful for getting to document so many moments 🫶🏻

Had such a lovely evening with Andrea & Benji in their backyard and of course little Murphy joined us 🐾

Then we packed up Murph in her adventure backpack and ventured into the trees to have a little picnic

Being apart of weddings is already such a special job but continuing friendships with clients and then being apart of more milestones is really what makes it a dream job 🤍

Alsoooo, Andrea & Benji have such a great taste in music, so of course I had so much fun building out a playlist for their session (can be found in my playlist highlights) 🎶

Snuck outside for sunset photos, and instead got rain and rainbows 🌈 One of my top favourite moments I’ve experienced as a wedding photographer for sureee 🥹 and with such a fun couple to top it off!!

Should you include your beloved fur baby in your engagement photos or even on your wedding day? (and yes, this can include cats!)

My answer is always YES, of course!!

That being said, there are some logistics that are needed to make it possible, but it’s 100% doable

So, here are some tips to making it stress free 🐶

ENGAGEMENT SESSION:
- Split your photos into 2 parts and do some at home with your pets (inside or in the yard) and do the second half somewhere else while they relax at home 🏡
- Outfit change! Plan to take photos with your pets in one outfit and change into something else when their part is over. No worries about hair or slobber on you😝
- Opt in for a secluded trail/off-leash area so they can run free without worries (of course only if your babies are good listeners and you trust them - some of us are still learning 🤪)
- Have someone else bring them to and from the location so they can have their “moment” rather than steal the show
- Bring treats!! We all love a good bribe

WEDDING DAY:
- Schedule in time for them to be there (ceremony/partial time of portraits/etc) instead of the whole day
- Assign someone you trust to be in charge of them!! Brining them to and from your venue, walking them & feeding them through the day. Let someone take the responsibility just for the day!
- Look for venues that are pet friendly 🤍
- & treats of course, always have treats 🍪

Kayla & Francisco felt like they were the perfect yin & yang to each other with a whole lotta fun mixed in 🍾

They decided to get married at their home in their backyard with their families (including bug their dog). When I arrived, I was in awe when Kayla showed me her custom dress that felt SO her!! We love a short dress moment and the movement of the beads were stunning.

They finished getting ready together and once everyone was seated, walked down the aisle where Kayla’s uncle read the most beautiful and advice filled words to wed them.

After sneaking away for a few photos, we rejoined the family for dinner, drinks, speeches and some homemade cake 🍰

Thank you both for such an amazingly beautiful and love filled day 🤍
