I’m Rachel – a born and raised Edmontonian, who quickly learned that a 4-hour car ride was very worth spending some time in the mountains, even if it was just for a day.

Photography combines so many things that make me feel and thats why I’ve dedicated most of my life to it in one way or another. I learned early on that creating images that I love was only half of it, and when I figured out all the ways I could make the person on the other side of my lens feel as happy and excited as me – that became my why.

My friends would describe me as laid-back but still very aware of the itinerary (probably because I created it). I believe structure and plans are necessary but also would say I’m a self-proclaimed hippie at heart who can go with the flow if and when it’s needed. Balance is key to a happy life, right?

If it wasn’t a bit obvious by now, I really love big trees and the colour green so therefore, love photos taken outside whenever I can – bonus points if its during a sunrise or sunset. I also love golf, yoga and my cat Jada just to rattle off some things that we may have in common.

But with that, I hope to hear more about your vision and how I could play a part in capturing some happy, beautiful memories for you.

Key Life Moments

Disposable Camera for Christmas

Yeah, going waaay back. I kept touching my parents film camera so they decided to get me a disposable camera for Christmas and I was over the moon! I guess there was always something about photos that fascinated me.

A few years later, they got me my first digital camera and I brought it to school everyday from then on. Thanks mom and dad – I owe ya!

Adopted Jada

I adopted my little tuxedo, Jada, early high school and she has followed me on 3 different moves now. She’s the best editing buddy and really encourages me to get up early in the morning (maybe thats for selfish reasons rather than my benefit, but motivation is motivation).

She’s the type of cat that makes non-cat people like cats or at least say “I’m not a fan of cats, but Jada is an exception.”

First collab with my (now) best friend

In 2019, I thought it would be a good idea to befriend a makeup artist, and I’m SO glad I had that idea and acted on it.

I reached out to Ana to do a collaboration photoshoot and all in all, it turned out beautifully!! From there, a friendship grew alongside both of our businesses, and as of today she is my best friend who I regularly get to work with. Seriously, a dream come true!

Graduated from university

We can all agree that COVID wasn’t the best time but the silver lining for me, is that when I graduated with my business degree, there wasn’t really a job market to jump into.

For the first time ever, I had a break from both school and work and was able to focus on my photography fully. I photographed my first “micro” wedding and fell in love. Since then, I’ve never looked back and I’ve put that degree to use in my own business, finding my place in the wedding industry.

Met my partner

I met my boyfriend Kaden at the end of 2023 and he has been a huge supporter of my career since the beginning. He’s also my personal golf coach and mechanic – 2 things that were must have’s on my “boyfriend checklist.”

He’s also a professional videographer and although he (sadly) doesn’t film weddings, you’ll sometimes catch him second shooting with me during weddings or taking some phone videos for my couples during proposals!
